Amy Moffatt is a South Carolina native who lets her southern style and lighthearted personality guide her stroke. No matter how hard she tries, she does not drift too far from the coast and her muse, Mother Nature. Amy rarely comes to the canvas with a plan – rather, she lets her carefree approach take over.
A self-taught artist, Amy comes from a long line of creative genes. Her grandfather demonstrated a precise, steady hand, creating beautiful works with the stroke of a pen, as well as delicate woodwork and tantalizing watercolors. Amy’s father’s art is on the other end of the spectrum – filled with humor and born from a free spirit. Growing up with this artistic influence, it was only natural for Amy to begin creating her own works of art, which have a playful feel and never lack in color and personality.
“Pursuing art came at a very chaotic time. Trying to balance being a mom to two young children, a husband that travelled, as well as a demanding corporate job myself. I was trying to do it all. Art has changed my perspective on life. My passion deepened as I found a way to express myself and feelings on canvas and reflect life in a positive light.” Now a full time artist, Amy has been published in numerous articles, magazines, has collectors all over the US and was recently named “Best of the Best Artist” of Charlotte, NC.
Amy was born in Texas, grew up in South Carolina, and has lived in Charlotte, North Carolina, the past 17 years. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a business/marketing degree. When not creating or painting, Amy loves to travels, watch sporting events and spend as much time as possible outside and near the water with her family. She loves exploring life with her two precious children, Carson and Davis, and her amazingly supportive husband, Jeff.
